Apart from Xiaomi, Samsung, vivo and OPPO ranked second, third and fourth, with 8.1 million (18%), 7.3 million (16%) and 7.1 million (16%) respectively, while realme fell to fifth with 6.2 million (14%) shipments.

CTOnews.com learned that the report showed that India shipped 44.6 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2022, down 6% from the previous year, due to a lack of support in the low-end market.

Canalys analyst Sanyam Chaurasia pointed out that due to the impact of inflation, the market contribution of entry-level devices has declined this year, while the mid-and high-end markets have performed relatively well due to active promotional activities. One plus and iQOO are two important brands that promote the growth of mid-end mobile phone sales in e-commerce channels during this period. Flagship models, especially the older generation of flagship products, have also experienced strong demand after the price reduction, such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy S22 series, Apple iPhone 13 and so on.
