CTOnews.com, Oct. 21 (Xinhua)-- Toyota plans to start producing and selling a small electric car loaded with BYD batteries, the bZ3, by the end of the year as part of its ongoing partnership with BYD.

Today, FAW Toyota finally announced that the pure electric car bZ3 will officially debut at 19:30 on October 24.

CTOnews.com reported that the FAW Toyota BZ3 completed its declaration in August this year. The new car is based on the e-TNGA platform, the length of the car is 4725mm, the wheelbase is 2880mm, and the appearance continues the design of its concept car, with a rear single motor and lithium iron phosphate battery. The motor and battery are provided by BYD's Fudi.

In other words, the model will be equipped with three electric systems supplied by BYD, including the drive motor of BYD's Fudi code name TZ200-XS022, and the battery also comes from Fudi, which is likely to be BYD's newly developed blade battery.

In addition, according to the catalogue of recommended models for the Promotion and Application of New Energy vehicles by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, FAW Toyota's new bZ3 will launch two endurance versions, of which the long-lasting version has a mileage of 616km under CLTC conditions and 12kWhh power consumption of 100km, while the standard endurance model CLTC has a range of 517km and power consumption of 100km is 11kWh.

In terms of power, the new car will be available in two models, of which the low-power version with a range of 517km is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 135kW and a maximum torque of 303N ·m. The high-power model with a range of 616km is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 180kW and a maximum torque of 303N ·m.
