CTOnews.com, October 21 (Xinhua)-- at the SDC 2022 event, Samsung unveiled One UI 5.0 and new features of Bixby, Samsung Knox, SmartThings and Tizen. After the event, a Samsung executive revealed more about the company's One UI 5.0 promotion plans and plans to build the next version of One UI.

Hyesoon (Sally) Jeong, vice president of Samsung Electronics and in charge of One UI development, said the company hopes to launch a stable version of One UI 5.0 for almost all compatible high-end smartphones by the end of the year.

However, Hyesoon (Sally) Jeong confirmed that One UI will not appear on its Chromebook or smart TV. She added that One UI will remain different from the native Android UI, but will converge as much as possible in functionality.

The Samsung executive said the company works very closely with Google's Android team and has made a lot of contributions to native Android. In the past few years, Samsung's multi-window and Galaxy-themed features have been incorporated into native Android. Since the introduction of folding screen phones, Samsung has worked more closely with Google.
