CTOnews.com, October 21 (Xinhua)-- Apple has lowered the price of some old iPad models while introducing 2022 updates to the iPad Pro and iPad 10. Apple has actually reduced the prices of some other refurbished devices.

Most notably, Apple has reduced the price of MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch refurbished models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. From its debut in April to earlier this week, the prices of the refurbished M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro models have been reduced to about 15 per cent less than the corresponding new models, but have now fallen to about 15 per cent lower than the new models.

For example, the entry-level 14-inch model, which usually sells for $1999, was initially refurbished at $1799, but has fallen to $1709 since this week. Similarly, the new 16-inch MacBook Pro high-end configuration costs $3499 and initially offered a refurbishment price of $3149, but has now fallen to $2989.

The price of the national version of the refurbished machine has also been adjusted downwards. For example, the 14-inch MacBook Pro 2021 refurbished machine equipped with 8-core CPU and 14-core M1 Pro chip originally sold for 13499 yuan, but now it sells for 12819 yuan. The original price of the new model is 14999 yuan.

Refurbished older MacBook Pro models have fallen even more, such as the 2019 16-inch 2.6GHz Core i7, which previously cost $1949, a 15 per cent discount from the original price of $2299 for the new device. As of this week, the refurbished model now sells for $1749, a nearly 25 per cent discount from the original price.

CTOnews.com has learned that all Apple's refurbished Mac have the same one-year warranty as the new products, as well as all manuals and accessories. Every Apple refurbished device goes through a rigorous process of testing, maintenance, cleaning and repackaging. The standard one-year warranty can be extended with AppleCare +, making Apple's refurbished products almost indistinguishable from new ones.
