CTOnews.com, October 20 (Xinhua) Texas issued a statement from the state attorney general's office on Thursday, saying that Texas Attorney General Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Alphabet's Google for allegedly collecting biometric data on millions of Texas users without proper consent.

Google is said to have collected millions of biometric information, including voice prints and faces, from Texans through products and services such as Google Photos, Google Assistant and Nest Hub Max, another violation of Texans' right to privacy. Google's use of Texans' personal information for its own business interests has violated the state's capture or use of biometrics laws.

Attorney General Paxton said: "Google's indiscriminate collection of personal information about Texans, including very sensitive information, such as biometric information, cannot be tolerated."I will continue to fight large technology companies to ensure the privacy and security of all Texans."

CTOnews.com learned that Paxton had filed several lawsuits against Google, accusing it of violating the Texas fraudulent Trade practices-Consumer Protection Act and fraudulently tracking users' locations without their consent.
