CTOnews.com, October 20, in the face of the British CMA's review of Activision's Blizzard acquisition, Microsoft submitted some documents to state the reasonableness of the acquisition and explain why it will not have a huge impact on Sony's PlayStation platform.

Microsoft said that although it had previously said the game was still in its early stages of development, Sony planned to release Insomniac's Marvel Wolverine in 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Marvel Wolverine, a game developed by Insomniac Games, was officially announced at the PlayStation Showcase event in September 2021, when Insomniac also announced Marvel Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac has repeatedly announced that Spider-Man will be available on PS5 in 2023, and the studio has always stressed that Wolverine is in the early stages of development and does not even provide an approximate release date for the game.

Microsoft said in a filing to CMA that Sony plans to release a series of first-party and third-party masterpieces in 2023, including Marvel Spider-Man 2, Horizon, final Fantasy 16, Forspoken and Marvel Wolverine.

CTOnews.com warned that the release date of "Marvel Wolverine" has not been officially announced, so this date may only be a temporary plan, and may be changed in the future.

When Insomniac announced the release of Marvel Wolverine last year, Ryan Schneider, director of studio relations, said: "in our Spider-Man game, our goal is not only to respect the DNA of the original character, but also to look for opportunities to make it fresh and truly reflect the spirit of Insomniac."

"although Marvel Wolverine is still in its early stages of development, from the emotional narrative and cutting-edge play I have observed, the team is already creating something really special."
