CTOnews.com, Oct. 20, Microsoft has been releasing updates for WSA, the Android subsystem on Windows 11. According to the update roadmap quietly released by Microsoft on Github, WSA now performs better on Windows 11 and will upgrade to Android 13 in the near future.

According to the GitHub page, Microsoft is developing an Android 13-based WSA for Windows 11. Android 13, released on August 15, 2022, is the latest version of the Android system.

In addition, the roadmap also shows that WSA will support file transfer with the Windows system, as well as screenshots, picture-in-picture, default local network access and other important functions, it is not clear when it will be launched.

CTOnews.com learned that the Windows 11 Android subsystem (Windows Subsystem for Android) includes the Linux kernel and the Android operating system based on the Android open source project (AOSP) version. This subsystem runs in the Hyper-V virtual machine, just like the Linux subsystem, it can map the runtime and API of App in the AOSP environment to the Windows graphics layer, memory buffers, input modes, physical and virtual devices, and sensors, and can run on Intel, AMD, Qualcomm CPU.
