CTOnews.com At its annual Ignite 2022 event, Microsoft announced that it will launch new Microsoft 365 apps to replace current Office apps. A few days after the announcement, Microsoft is now finally showing off Microsoft 365 apps for the first time.

Microsoft 365's YouTube channel today released a video showing some of the main features of Microsoft 365 apps. In addition to showcasing its new look and new icons, the video also talks about Microsoft 365 being the hub for all documents, presentations and files in all your apps, including third-party content.

The video is only 55 seconds long, so it doesn't cover everything, but mentions some nice features, including the following:

The ability to search and find files shared by specific people.

Create new content with the help of pre-designed templates.

Find all Microsoft apps, third-party apps and user company apps.

Feeds help users prepare for upcoming meetings, see updates from people they follow, and more.

Personalized recommendations from Microsoft Graph.

Quick access to all of the user's recent files.

CTOnews.com has learned that the Office app in the Google Play Store has now been renamed Office (Microsoft 365). As of now, the app doesn't offer all of the new features shown in the video.

Microsoft said Office.com, Office mobile apps and Office apps for Windows will be renamed Microsoft 365 "in the coming months." However, Microsoft will continue to offer consumers and businesses one-time purchases of these apps through the Office 2021 and Office LTSC programs.
