October 20, according to foreign media reports, the German government approved a plan on Wednesday to invest 6.3 billion euros in the next three years to rapidly expand the number of charging stations for electric vehicles nationwide as an important measure for Germany to promote net zero emissions.

It is reported that the goal of the plan is to increase the number of charging stations 14-fold, from 70,000 now to 1 million by 2030, and to focus on the construction of cities that are currently in short supply. In addition, Germany hopes to increase the number of electric vehicles from about 1.5 million to 15 million by 2030.

Volker Wissing, Germany's federal transport minister, said: "Electric vehicles are spreading rapidly, so we must act quickly to accelerate the expansion of the charging infrastructure network and simplify the charging process, so that people can make it easier to transition from fuel-fueled vehicles to electric vehicles."

At present, Germany expects the electric vehicle market to grow exponentially, but electricity prices are soaring due to the influence of the international situation. To address this problem, the German government plans to limit electricity prices, and Wissing said the energy crisis should not undermine long-term climate targets.
