Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, October 20, today, Samsung Electronics announced the addition of a new member of the 200-megapixel (200MP) series of sensors-- ISOCELL HPX.

The ▲ picture is from Samsung, and Samsung says that with a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HPX, the image can maintain a definition of 1250 megapixels (12.5MP) even if it is magnified to four times the original image size.

At the same time, ISOCELL HPX extends Samsung's smallest 0.56 micron (μ m) pixels. DTI (Deep Trench Isolation) technology can not only separate each pixel separately, but also improve the sensitivity to capture clear and vivid images. The pixel size of 0.56 microns can also reduce the area of the camera module by 20%, making the body of the smartphone lighter and smaller.

CTOnews.com learned that through Tetra ²pixel technology, Samsung ISOCELL HPX can automatically convert three lighting modes according to light conditions:

In the environment with sufficient light, the pixel size is kept at 0.56 microns (μ m), showing 200 million pixels.

In a low light environment, pixels are converted to 1.12um (μ m), showing 5000 megapixels.

In the dark light environment, the sixteen pixels are combined into one, and the 2.24um (μ m) 1250 megapixel sensor is obtained.

Samsung pointed out that the technology allows ISOCELL HPX to provide a good shooting experience in dark light conditions, even when the light source is limited, but also to restore as bright and clear photos as possible.

In addition, the Super QPD AF solution allows ISOCELL HPX to be equipped with ultra-fast and ultra-accurate AF. The technology uses a microlens to cover four adjacent pixels, and the sensor can achieve fast and accurate focus and capture clearer images by detecting the phase difference between horizontal and vertical directions.

ISOCELL HPX provides users with different video shooting options, allowing users to shoot 8K videos at 30fps speed, and supports seamless dual HDR (high dynamic range) in 4K and FHD (full HD FULL HD) modes.

Samsung points out that intelligent ISO Pro technology gives ISOCELL HPX a high dynamic range and the ability to capture almost unlimited color combinations. The single-frame line-by-line HDR (Staggered HDR) supported by intelligent ISO Pro technology can capture shadows and lights in the scene in low, medium and high exposures according to the shooting environment.

According to reports, the combination of three exposed photos can present high-quality HDR pictures and videos. In addition, it allows the sensor to present a picture in more than 4 trillion colors (14-bit depth), which is 64 times higher than the 68 billion colors (12-bit depth) of Samsung's predecessor.
