According to reports, this clinical study is a single-center, blind, positive vaccine and placebo-controlled phase Ⅰ clinical trial to evaluate the safety of tetravalent split influenza virus vaccine (MDCK cells) in people aged 3 and over. It is the first cell culture influenza vaccine in China and is of great significance.

Yang Xiaoming, head of research and development of the product, said in his speech that tetravalent split influenza virus vaccine (MDCK cells) is the first cell-based influenza vaccine in China to obtain clinical research approval. On the basis of the tetravalent influenza virus cleavage vaccine, the product uses MDCK cells instead of chicken embryos for culture. It has the characteristics of strict standard, new technology, high purity and wide coverage, small inter-batch difference, high stability, and effectively reduce the incidence of allergy. China Biology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of Shandong Province have a solid foundation of cooperation. It is hoped that both sides can continue to effectively promote the tetravalent influenza (MDCK cell) clinical trial project, strive to complete clinical research as soon as possible, achieve product registration and listing, and better serve people's lives and health.

According to the China Influenza vaccination Technical Guide (2021-2022) issued by the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, annual seasonal influenza epidemics can cause 3-5 million severe cases and 29-65 million respiratory disease-related deaths worldwide.
