CTOnews.com, October 19 (Xinhua)-- Linus Torvalds, the "father of Linux", recently released RC 1 version of Linux 6.1, which implements basic support for the Rust programming language, with few changes.

Linus went on to say that developers should have patches ready before the Linux kernel merge window opens, not after it is opened. He understands that everyone will slack off sometimes, but he shouldn't use the merge window closing date as a deadline every time.

CTOnews.com learned that the first candidate version of Linux kernel 6.1 (RC) is now available and ready for use by testers, early adopters, and early adopters, with a final release expected in early or mid-December 2022.
