CTOnews.com, October 19 (Xinhua) A netizen recently posted on the Internet that the iPhone 14 Pro Max he bought was assembled in India. According to the netizen, he bought two dark purple 256GB versions of the iPhone 14 Pro Max from Apple's Dalian store last week. As a result, the two phones were assembled in different places, namely, China and India.

The photo shows that the outer package of one of the iPhones shows "Assembled in India" (assembled in India), but the box is still marked "made in China".

On the matter, a reporter from Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily asked about Apple's official customer service hotline, and a senior technical adviser to Apple said, "judging from the content of the photo, the iPhone part is made in China and assembled in India."

Earlier, foreign media reported that Apple began producing the iPhone 14 in India in September, earlier than expected, narrowing the gap between Chinese and Indian production from a few months to a few weeks. This is also the first time Apple has produced the new phone in India in the first year of its launch. "We are very pleased to be able to produce iPhone 14 in India," Apple said in an emailed statement.

CTOnews.com learned that, in addition, a report by JPMorgan Chase shows that Apple will transfer about 5% of its iPhone 14 production capacity to India from the end of 2022, and it is expected that 1/4 of Apple's iPhone will be produced in India by 2025.
