CTOnews.com October 19 news, yesterday evening, Apple officially released the iPad 10 and iPad Pro 2022.

Apple says the new iPad models are designed to minimize environmental impact, including the use of 100 percent recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit boards, a first for iPad models, as well as recycled aluminum metal, recycled tin and recycled rare earth elements.

When talking about iPad 10, Apple said that the new iPad is also the first iPad model to use recycled copper, which is 100% recycled copper in the foil of the motherboard. CTOnews.com understands that Apple points out that all iPad models meet Apple's environmental standards-high energy efficiency and no mercury, brominated flame retardants (BFR), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and beryllium.

The new iPad also features redesigned packaging that no longer uses plastic overwrap and is 97 percent fiber-based. The new iPad Pro is 99% fiber based.

Apple has achieved carbon neutrality in global corporate operations and plans to achieve 100% carbon neutrality in all supply chains and all product life cycles by 2030. Apple also aims to completely remove plastic from its packaging by the end of 2025.
