According to two people familiar with Apple's supply chain, Apple cut production a few weeks after the iPhone 14 Plus shipped because it reassessed its needs.

Apple has told at least one Chinese Apple manufacturer to suspend production of iPhone 14 Plus components immediately. At this time, the global smartphone market has tended to weaken, smartphone shipments in the third quarter decreased by 9% year-on-year, and demand will still not be very high in the next 6-9 months.

The iPhone 14 Plus was released on September 7 and is cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro, which went on sale on October 7. Apple had expected strong demand for the new machine, but Apple's wishes fell through, and last month Apple abandoned plans to increase production of the new machine.
