Figures released by Volkswagen last week showed that total deliveries of electric vehicles worldwide rose 25% in the first nine months of this year compared with the same period a year earlier.

But supply chain bottlenecks have hit the Volkswagen European market particularly hard, where inflation and rising energy costs are also affecting consumer demand for cars.

Volkswagen Group announced last week that global delivery of all models, including fuel vehicles, hybrids and electric vehicles, was down 12.9% from the same period last year, with Europe being the worst affected market.

Tesla's global delivery volume has repeatedly hit record highs, but he also faces many challenges in logistics, with delivery in the third quarter falling short of analysts' expectations.
