Beijing, Oct. 19 (Beijing time)-with a few days to go before the deadline for Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Twitter's freezing of employees' equity incentive accounts indicates that it hopes to complete the deal smoothly.

In today's regular trading, Twitter shares rose 2.05% to close at $51.78, but the price was still below Musk's offer of $54.2.

A Delaware judge ordered Musk to close the deal by October 28. This week Twitter updated the employee FAQ page, reminding employees that they cannot access stock accounts or trade stocks through Equity Award Center. Twitter also made it clear on the page that an entity controlled by Mr Musk was expected to complete the acquisition.

Musk had earlier backed out and asked to cancel the deal, but earlier this month Musk changed his mind again, saying he would press ahead with the deal on its original terms.
