CTOnews.com October 18 news, in August this year, Samsung officially released 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 SSD. Now, foreign media have released a review of this product, and the 990 PRO is expected to go on sale soon.

According to Samsung's official introduction, Samsung 990 PRO series products Samsung uses the new V-NAND technology and the new self-developed controller, which can provide ultra-high speed in the PCIe 4.0 interface. The SSD has sequential read and write speeds of up to 7450 MB/s and 6900MB/s, and random read and write speeds of 1400K and 1550K IOPS, respectively. Compared with 980 PRO, the random read and write performance of 990 PRO is improved by 55%.

Samsung's newly designed controller greatly improves the energy efficiency of the SSD, up to 50% compared with the 980 PRO. In addition, the 990 PRO adds a nickel coating to the controller and uses a label heatsink on the hard drive to ensure reliable thermal management. The 990 PRO (heatsink version) also provides an extra layer of thermal control, while its RGB lighting is more stylish.

CTOnews.com learned that the 990 PRO is expected to go on sale worldwide in November this year, with the 1TB model retailing for $179 (about 1224.36 yuan) and the 2TB version for $309 (about 2113.56 yuan). The 4TB model will be launched next year.
