Technology Day, Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei today drove a mass production version of Model C electric car to kick off Foxconn Day, Technology Day simultaneously released Model B and Model V electric pickup truck two new electric cars, will be put into production in Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and discuss cooperation with Indian and Indonesian partners.

Liu Yangwei pointed out that in 2020, the group began to hold regular science and technology days to showcase the annual results of the 3-3 strategy layout. Last year, the 2nd session launched three electric vehicles, Model C prototype cars, Model E cars, and Model T electric buses, demonstrating Hon Hai's speed. Two new electric vehicles are on display today, including the cross-border recreation vehicle Model B and electric pickup Model V for the younger generation, as well as the mass-produced Model C electric vehicle.

Hon Hai's new prototype car Model B, officially launched today, is based on the Model C platform, with a wind resistance coefficient of 0.26, a range of 450km and an acceleration of 6.6s from zero to 100km.

As for the Model V electric pickup truck, Hon Hai pointed out that it can be seen as a milestone for Hon Hai to complete the middle jigsaw puzzle between passenger vehicles and large commercial vehicles. Hon Hai cooperated with MIH Alliance partners in the design, with a load capacity of 1 ton and a towing capacity of 3 tons. The Model V electric pickup truck uses a five-seater space design.

With regard to the mass production version of Model C, Liu Yangwei said that the three-hour advance order for the mass production version of Model C exceeded 15000, and the horsepower increased from 400 to 460. Hon Hai pointed out that the first electric vehicle built by the MIH open electric vehicle platform, with a low wind resistance of 0.28, provides a power performance of 3.8 seconds with an acceleration of 0 to 100km, as well as stage training results of nearly 700km endurance, and it is expected that brand customers will be officially delivered to car owners in the second half of next year.

As for batteries, solid-state batteries will be introduced to improve safety density and charging speed, safer and longer mileage. As for software, Hon Hai will launch HHEV.OS to build standards and become a software ecosystem.

With regard to the MIH standardized and modular open platform announced the year before last, Hon Hai said that the goal is to reduce the speed and cost of vehicle development. So far, 2479 companies have joined, and an exhibition day will be held on November 8 to announce MIH model plans.

CTOnews.com learned that in addition to the two new electric vehicles and the mass production version of Model C, Hon Hai today exhibited key components such as EPS electric power steering system, solid-state batteries and semiconductors, and announced the CDMS (Contract design and manufacturing service) business model for commissioned design and manufacturing services in the field of electric vehicles for the next 10 years.
