CTOnews.com, October 18, in addition to Windows 10, Microsoft also released an out-of-band (OOB) update KB5020387 (Build 22000.1100) for Windows 11 21H2 to fix the transport layer security (TLS) / secure socket layer (SSL) handshake failures reported by users. Resolved an issue that may affect some types of secure Sockets layer (SSL) and Transport layer Security (TLS) connections. These connections may fail to shake hands. For developers, the affected connection may receive one or more records in a single input buffer, followed by a partial record less than 5 bytes. If the connection fails, the application will receive an error, "SEC_E_ILLEGAL_MESSAGE".

This update improves the quality of the service stack, which is the component that installs the Windows update. Service Stack Update (SSU) ensures that there is a strong and reliable service stack so that devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.
