Display suppliers saw rising demand for flexible OLED panels with high refresh rate specifications, which drove OLED growth during this period. Samsung Display is well positioned to benefit from customer demand, providing a strong sales pipeline for customer orders for its OLED panels. BOE, TCL, CSOT and Tianma Microelectronics increased OLED production efforts and secured orders to supply OLED panels to leading smartphone brands in the first half of 2022. "

Stephen Entwistle, vice president of strategic technology practice at Strategy Analytics, said: "We expect OLED panel momentum to continue and drive market growth through stronger display vendor competition and higher OLED display panel production volumes. We expect LCD panel oversupply to lead to further price declines. The weak macro economy poses a huge threat to the overall growth prospects of the smartphone display panel market. "
