CTOnews.com, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) General Motors luxury brand Cadillac has shared many new details around the upcoming Celestiq all-electric luxury sedan, which has been predicted for a year and a half. Cadillac describes the Celestiq as the most technologically advanced, luxurious car it has ever seen, and probably the most expensive.

The Cadillac Celestiq will be the second BEV under the Cadillac brand and will be delivered in 2024, second only to Lyriq. Cadillac first shared the news of the ultra-luxury electric car in early 2021, calling it a flagship car wrapped in handmade materials.

In June, Cadillac released a new picture of the Celestiq, describing its design as "avant-garde" to challenge the ultra-luxury car market. Now, according to official information, the Celestiq will not only have handmade components, but will also be a fully handmade electric car with more than 100 3D printed components.

Cadillac says the Celestiq is a hand-built ultra-luxury car with low production. Officials also announced its selling price, which starts at $300000 (about 2.157 million yuan) and starts at $300000, and will rise according to the "personalization level" of customers.

Cadillac issued a press release of more than 5000 words today, which mentioned a lot about Celestiq. First, each Celestiq will be privately customized, and customers will have the opportunity to work directly with their chosen dealers and Cadillac designers to create their own, unique version, and no two electric cars are the same. Each customer will go through a personalized journey so that their vehicles are built exactly according to their wishes.

CTOnews.com learned that the Celestiq will use GM's Ultium platform with 111kWh battery packs and a dual-motor AWD system. GM estimates that the electric car will provide 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque and is expected to have a range of 300 miles (483 kilometers). According to Cadillac, the Celestiq's 0-60 mph acceleration time is 3.8 seconds. The limousine can be recharged at a rate of 200 kilowatts and has a range of about 78 miles in 10 minutes.

In addition to the platform, Cadillac says the Celestiq is equipped with the brand's most advanced suspension and performance systems, including magnetic levitation control and active rear spoiler, to improve aerodynamics at different speeds.

Other highlights of Celestiq: fixed smart glass roof, a variety of high-end materials such as carbon fiber, handmade metalwork and hand-wrapped leather, 55-inch infotainment system, 41 speakers, Super Cruise.

Cadillac did not disclose its planned total production of the Celestiq, but its team said it expected to produce only two vehicles a day, which is indeed a low production.
