CTOnews.com, October 18 (Xinhua)-- the rumored third-party case of Apple's 10th generation iPad (tentatively known as iPad 10) has been put on the shelves in an Target store in the United States.

Twitter user @ roeeban today shared a photo of a protective case for 2022 entry-level iPad that has not been released. The case was designed by accessories maker Speck, which has been making protective cases for Apple products for more than a decade and may have sources in Apple's supply chain to get design details about upcoming devices.

It is worth noting that the protective sleeve has a bracket for Apple Pencil 2, which indicates that iPad 10 will support newer versions of Apple Pencil. IPad 9 is only compatible with primary Apple Pencil.

CTOnews.com has been informed that the iPad 10 will adopt a new design, with a larger 10.5-inch display, USB-C ports, a flat border similar to iPad Pro, and a horizontal FaceTime camera, and is expected to remove the 3.5mm headphone Jack. The device will also be equipped with an A14 bionic chip and a cellular version that supports 5G. It is not entirely clear whether the device retains the Touch ID physical Home button or uses the Touch ID power button.

The new iPad 10 is likely to be released this month with the new iPad Pro 2022. IPadOS 16 is expected to be released to the public next week.

The last time Apple updated the entry-level iPad was in September 2021, when the iPad 9 came with a 10.2-inch display, an A13 bionic chip, an upgraded 1200-megapixel front camera, central portrait support, True Tone, and double basic storage.
