CTOnews.com, October 17 (Reuters)-British Vodafone and France's Altice have said they will set up a FibreCo joint venture in Germany to provide faster fiber optic broadband to up to 7 million households within six years, Reuters reported.

FibreCo will provide fiber-to-home connectivity and will invest up to 7 billion euros (49.21 billion yuan) to build the network, Vodafone said in a statement on Monday. The project is in line with the upgrade plan for Vodafone's existing hybrid fiber optic cable network.

CTOnews.com has learned that both companies will own 50 per cent of FibreCo, a deal that is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the first half of 2023.
