Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, October 17, Strategy Analytics recently released a research report entitled "Internet of things Cellular connections divided by Air Interface and Vertical Industry" predicts that the compound annual growth rate of Internet of things cellular connections will reach 14% from 2022 to 2030.
StrategyAnalytics said the report provided a forecast by 2030 that industry and cars would be the vertical industries with the largest number of Internet of things connections during the 2022-30 forecast period.
This latest report dates back to 2013 and predicts IoT connections based on air interface technology (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and vertical industries-automotive, healthcare, home (non-security), industry, primary processing, POS / retail, security, transportation, utilities, etc. CTOnews.com learned that during the 2022-30 period, the health care industry was the fastest growing vertical industry, with an average annual compound growth rate of 23%, followed by the industrial and automotive industries, with an average annual compound growth rate of 17% and 16%, respectively.
StrategyAnalytics believes that the largest industries will continue their growth trajectory, with industrial Internet of things connections growing from 17 per cent in 2022 to 21 per cent in 2030 and cars from 15 per cent in 2022 to 18 per cent in 2030 during the 2022-2030 forecast period. In 2022, industry was the leading industry, accounting for 17% of total Internet of things connections, followed by cars and utilities, each with 15% of connections.
"by 2030, 5G Internet of things connections will be dominated by industrial and automotive applications, accounting for 28% and 21%, respectively," StrategyAnalytics said. By 2030, healthcare and security applications will be the next largest market, accounting for 20% of 5G Internet of things connections. The low latency advantage of 5G will allow the Internet of things to be used in situations where near-instantaneous communications are required, such as truck loading in transit, self-driving, low latency in manufacturing, and remote surgery in healthcare. Even if they are not in the operating room with the patient, surgeons can still operate through robots and virtual / augmented reality. "
