At the end of September, Wham Baam Teslacam, a popular YouTube channel run by Tesla fans, tweeted that all Tesla-certified car repair shops in Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, would not accept customers from GEICO, the fourth largest car insurance company in the United States, because GEICO would not pay for repairs.

According to Tesla, this is false news. Instead of asking publicists to correct the rumor on Wham Baam Teslacam and other websites, Tesla's legal team sent a letter of notice.

Wham Baam Teslacam later confirmed that his previous tweet was based entirely on an unconfirmed contribution from a fan. All Tesla authorization centers in Phoenix are still providing maintenance services to GEICO customers, and the available evidence shows that Tesla authorization centers in the Phoenix area have recorded dozens of Tesla car maintenance fees paid by GEICO.

CTOnews.com learned that Wham Baam Teslacam also withdrew its previous tweet and issued an apology in response to the experience:
