CTOnews.com, October 17 (Xinhua)-- Apple and Mercedes-Benz announced that Apple Music's spatial audio capabilities and native support for Dolby Panorama are being launched for some Mercedes-Benz cars around the world, including the latest Mercedes-Maybach, EQS, EQS SUV, EQE and S-Class models.

As The Verge points out, Apple Music space audio requires Mercedes-Benz cars to be equipped with Burmester 3D or 4D sound systems. The above cars may have sold for more than $100000 (about 721000 yuan), but the optional 3D system for the Burmester system costs $4550 (about 32806 yuan) and the 4D costs $6730 (about 48523 yuan).

CTOnews.com has learned that since last year, Apple Music has been available directly through the newer Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system. Spatial audio provides an immersive surround sound auditory experience that makes people feel that the music is around. Spatial audio was launched last year on Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and now it is supported on cars for the first time.

Mercedes-Benz drivers who have subscribed to Apple Music can instantly enjoy a growing range of songs and albums in the car via spatial audio from the world's top artists, covering all types of hip-hop, country, Latin, pop and classical. Apple Music also provides carefully choreographed spatial audio playlists such as "Spatial Audio experience: driving time" and "Spatial Audio experience: hip-hop" to help music fans find and find more good songs from favorite artists. In addition, subscribers can enjoy tens of millions of songs in the Apple Music library, thousands of professionally choreographed playlists, and daily selections by world-class music experts.

Virgil Abloh's Mercedes-Maybach limited edition model, which was launched last month and presents a multi-dimensional music experience through Burmester's high-end 4D sound system, was one of the first cars in the world to present this remarkable experience, and the first Mercedes-Benz model to integrate spatial audio. The sound system consists of 31 speakers, including 6 3D speakers that sound from the top, 4 speakers located in the front seat close to the occupant's ear and a subwoofer with a volume of up to 18.5L; and eight structural sensors (2 per seat) and two amplifiers with a total power of up to 1750 watts. The technology will soon be launched on other models.
