Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, October 16, Wccftech has obtained an internal report from AMD indicating that the company is planning to reduce its production plan for its Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" series CPU.

AMD internal management said that due to the decline in the PC market and the overall acceptance of the AM5 platform, it plans to reduce the production of the Ruilong 7000 "Zen 4" series processors.

As the AM5 platform is the latest generation of AMD platform, coupled with a series of powerful additional features such as DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, this has increased the initial price of the motherboard to some extent, and even the recently launched entry-level B650 series has failed to meet AMD's promise of $125.

Due to the high price of the AM5 platform and the high price of DDR5 memory relative to the DDR4 platform, coupled with the much-complained heat accumulation problem, the AMD Ruilong R7 7700X has not saved its sales even if it has proved to be better than Intel's 13th-generation Core i7-13700K.

The report also points out that hardware enthusiasts are currently the main buyers of AM5, while the most expensive Ryzen 9 7900X has become the best-selling model in the Ruilong 7000 series. It is worth mentioning that this data is not based on a particular retailer's data, but on AMD's global shipments and retail data.

But the question is, if AMD users want stronger gaming performance, wouldn't it be enough to upgrade R7 5800X3D directly on the AM4 platform? For them, eight Zen 3 cores can still bring good multithreading performance, and 3D cache can guarantee their game performance better than i9-12900K, so users are very confused about buying AM4 or AM5.

Judging from the current revelations, AMD actually has 3D V-Cache models ready for the Ryzen 7000 series, but there is a good chance that they will not be officially released until CES 2023, and whether AM4 will get a new 3D cache remains to be seen.

But to say the least, even without the X3D option, the AM4 lineup has many more cost-effective options, and no matter the 6, 8, 12, 16 core chips are not significantly weaker than the experience of AM5 platform products.

CTOnews.com reminded that the sales gap between AM4 and AM5 can also be seen intuitively from the statistics shared by TechEpiphany. At present, most netizens think that AMD really needs to rethink the pricing of AM5 products:
