CTOnews.com October 16 news, China Railway International Co., Ltd. said that on the afternoon of October 16 local time in Indonesia, the last 900t simply supported beam landed steadily on piers 8 to 9 of Bridge 24 of Yawan High-speed Railway, marking the smooth completion of the erection of box girders on the whole line of Yawan High-speed Railway, and the full opening of track laying channels, laying a solid foundation for completion and opening of traffic in June 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that the Yawan high-speed railway is a landmark project for China and Indonesia to jointly build "Belt and Road Initiative" and deepen practical cooperation, and it is also the first time that China's high-speed railway has landed overseas with a full-system, all-element and whole-industry chain.

On September 1, local time, after 11 days of sea transportation, China exported high-speed EMU and comprehensive inspection trains for the Yawan high-speed railway from the Chinese port of Qingdao to the Indonesian port of Jakarta. This is the first high-speed train to arrive in Indonesia for the Yawan high-speed rail project.

The high-speed EMU and comprehensive testing trains of Yawan high-speed railway are led by China Railway International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., which is designed and manufactured by China Railway Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., which is one of the members of the Chinese consortium of Yawan high-speed railway. It is the first high-speed train exported in China.

The train adopts Chinese standard and is tailor-made for Yawan high-speed railway, with a maximum operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour, four moving and four dragging eight cars, relying on the advanced and mature technology of Fuxing Chinese standard EMU, adapting to Indonesia's local operating environment and line conditions, and integrating Indonesian local culture to improve adaptability.

The Yawan high-speed railway, which connects Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, and Bandung, a famous tourist city, is 142 kilometers long and has a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The full line adopts Chinese technology and Chinese standards. When completed, it will become the first high-speed railway in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
