Aerial photos show that at present, the Shanghai wharf has accumulated a large number of cars ready for export, waiting to be shipped to overseas markets.

In the third quarter of this year, Tesla followed the strategy of giving priority to exports at the beginning of the quarter and ensuring local delivery at the end of the quarter. According to the data released by the Federation of passengers, Tesla delivered 83135 new cars in China in September, but exported only 5522.

According to the Federation of passengers, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles in China reached 675000 in September 2022, an increase of 94.9 percent over the same period last year and 6.2 percent month-on-month. Retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 611000 in September, up 82.9% from a year earlier and 14.7% from a month earlier.

Recently, aerial photos at Shanghai Nangang Wharf showed that batch after batch of new cars from the Shanghai super factory were being shipped to the port parking lot, which is by far the largest export volume. Judging from the aerial video, tens of thousands of Tesla are neatly parked on the dock.

Photographers believe that this month is a good start, a steady stream of Tesla was pulled away by cargo ships, and in less than half a month, three ro-ro ships arrived at Shanghai's Nangang wharf. In the next month and a half of exports and domestic insurance delivery work, Tesla has fully mobilized the capacity of the Shanghai super factory, and the annual output is expected to reach 750000 vehicles.

CTOnews.com has learned that Tesla is expected to announce his third-quarter 2022 results after the close on Wednesday, October 19, while a conference call is scheduled for 4:30.

It is worth mentioning that Tesla delivered less than Wall Street expected in the third quarter, while Tesla explained that this was because the company was trying to make its weekly production more balanced, so although the delivery volume was lower than expected, but the company may still have a lot of revenue.

"historically, due to the mass production of cars in the region, our delivery has tilted at the end of each quarter. as our production continues to grow, ensuring vehicle capacity at a reasonable cost during these logistics peak weeks becomes more and more challenging.

"in the third quarter, we began the transition to a more balanced regional mix of weekly production vehicles, which led to an increase in transport vehicles at the end of the quarter. these cars have been ordered and will be delivered to customers when they arrive at their destination."

For reference, Tesla expects to deliver 343830 vehicles in the third quarter of 2022, including 325158 Model 3 / Y and 18672 Model S / X. During the same period, Tesla also produced 365923 new cars, including 345988 Model 3 / Y and 19935 Model S / X.
