CTOnews.com October 15 news, according to Nvidia news, the latest version of live recording software OBS Studio 28.1 Beta 1 now supports AV1 encoder support for Nvidia RTX 40 series GPU, and updates NVENC presets to improve output to virtual cameras.

CTOnews.com has reported that Nvidia said it uses the new dual encoder of the GeForce RTX 40 series, which reduces the waiting time for video export by nearly half. Dual encoders can work together and are automatically assigned to achieve two-way output. They can also record content up to 8K60 through GeForce Experience and OBS Studio.

NVIDIA has partnered with OBS Studio to add AV1 to OBS Studio 28.1 Beta 1, building on the recently released HEVC and HDR support. OBS will also optimize the coding workflow to reduce the footprint of all NVIDIA GPU by 35%. The new version will also introduce updated NVIDIA Broadcast effects, including noise reduction and room echo cancellation, as well as improvements to virtual backgrounds.
