How does the photo above make the water so silky? the answer is to use a slow door, that is, the shutter speed of the photo is as long as 1 second, 5 seconds, 10 seconds or more. During this period, the movement track of the running water was completely recorded and overlapped on the photo, forming a wire drawing effect.

Shutter time controls the amount of light in, and when the shutter time becomes longer, the amount of light in the shutter increases. If the normal exposure is a 4000 second shutter, and you shoot with a shutter of 1 second, the picture is 4000 times brighter than the original, and it is likely to be in vain. So some people take pictures of silk flowing water, and the photos they take are white.

Shooting method 1:ND Mirror buy a "ND dimmer", which is a lens similar to sunglasses, twisted in front of the lens to reduce the amount of light.

The dimming ability of common models of ND mirrors:

ND 0.3 = ND2 = lower 1 gear shutter

ND 0.6 = ND4 = lower 2-gear shutter

ND 0. 9 = ND8 = lower 3 gear shutter

ND 3. 0 = ND1000 = lower 10 gear shutter

To teach you a simple notation, ND2 means that the shutter speed can be multiplied by 2 and ND4 means that the shutter speed can be multiplied by 4. If my shutter speed without a ND mirror is 1x10 seconds, then if I install a ND2, I can set the shutter to 1max for 5 seconds, and the brightness of the photo is the same.

Generally, a lower iso is set first, and then a smaller aperture is used to reduce the amount of light input. Then take a trial shot to see what the shutter time is, and then calculate it according to the ND mirror.

It may be dark when you put on the ND mirror, so you should first construct the picture, adjust the focus, and then cover the ND lens for shooting.

Features: suitable for camera, shooting during the day (strong light), need accessories, a film.

Shooting method 2: shooting in the dark in the evening, when it is not dark, or in the early morning, when it will not be dawn. At this time, the light is very weak, so there is no need to use a ND mirror.

Generally adjust the sensitivity to a minimum (such as iso100), and then use a smaller aperture, such as F16, because the light is dim, the shutter can open for about 1-5 seconds. For fast-flowing water, you can get a great wire drawing effect in 1 to 5 seconds.

Features: suitable for cameras and mobile phones, must be a dark light environment, no accessories, a film.

Shooting method 3: smart phones many smartphones (such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Glory) have a special mode for shooting silk running water, which we can turn on and use directly. Take Huawei mobile phone as an example, open the camera-more-streamer shutter-silk running water, click on the running water to shoot, then click to stop, and grasp the shooting time according to the situation at the scene.

Features: only suitable for some mobile phones, can be filmed in any environment, no accessories, a film.

Shooting method 4: later stack if I don't want to buy ND mirror accessories, I can't wait until dark light, and my phone doesn't have a special mode, can I still do it?

The answer is yes. You can use the PS post-average stack method to shoot.

In the early stage, the camera should still be fixed, and dozens or even hundreds of photos should be taken continuously in the same position according to the conventional photo shooting method. (as for how many pictures to take, it depends on your shutter time and the speed of the current.)

Open ps, select "File-script-Statistics", click "Browse" to select all the photos, select "average" in stack mode, and wait a moment to generate a slippery flow photo.

Features: suitable for mobile phones and cameras, no accessories, heavy shooting workload, can not be filmed at once.

Composition suggests that when shooting, we can consider low-angle shooting, looking for rocks in the water, plants on the bank as the foreground, the photos are more layered. At the same time, a low angle can also make a small current larger and look more powerful.

At the same time, it is necessary to consider the choice of the surrounding environment. If the visual beauty of the surrounding environment is not good, it can be cut off directly from the top of the waterfall and focus on the performance of water.
