CTOnews.com, October 14 (Xinhua) in September, the number of new car registrations in Germany rose 14% year-on-year to 224816, while the number of new passenger car registrations so far this year was 1867885, down 7.4% from a year earlier.

At the same time, sales growth of new energy vehicles in Germany has significantly outperformed the overall market, approaching an all-time high, and is expected to surpass last year's overall level later this year.

Last month, 72725 new plug-in passenger cars were registered in Germany, up 29% from a year ago. Market share increased to 32.3% (compared with 28.7% in the same period last year). Sales of both pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles have grown healthily. Pure electric vehicles increased by 32% and plug-in hybrids increased by 24%.

The market share of new energy vehicles not only surpasses traditional hybrid vehicles (68433 vehicles and 30.4% market share), but even surpasses gasoline vehicles (72375 vehicles and 32.2% market share), while diesel vehicles lag far behind (38159 vehicles and 17% market share).

CTOnews.com learned that in September this year, the market share of various types of new energy vehicles in Germany was about:

Pure electric vehicles: 44389, up 32% year on year, accounting for 19.7% of the market share

Mixed models: 28336, up 24% from the same period last year, with a market share of 12.6%

A total of 72725 vehicles, up 29% from the same period last year, with a market share of 32.3%

So far this year, more than 488000 new energy vehicles have been registered in Germany:

Pure electric models: 272473-up 15%, with a market share of 14.6%

Mixed models: 215647-- down 11%, with a market share of 11.5%

Total: 488120 vehicles-up 2%, with a market share of 26.1%

In September, Tesla handed over a very surprising result-13724, which is a remarkable achievement, especially considering that Volkswagen has almost just exceeded 7000. New energy vehicle registrations by brand last month (at least 2000):

Most shockingly, Tesla Model Y became the overall best-selling car in Germany in September this year, thanks to its new record of 9846 vehicles. Volkswagen Golf (all versions, including 717s) came in second with 7095 registrations.

Because of this, Tesla Model Y is now the No. 1 new energy model sold in Germany so far this year, nearly 10000 more than Volkswagen ID.4 / ID.5 (combined).

In addition, Tesla Model 3 (3878 sold last month and 15901 year-to-date) now follows Fiat 500 electric vehicles (16856 year-to-date).
