October 14 news, according to foreign media reports, South Korean chip company Nextchip plans to launch a new advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) chip Apache 6 prototype next year.

Foreign media reported that Apache 6, the successor to Apache 5, will be built with Samsung's 14nm technology and support Level level 3 autopilot.

In early December last year, it was reported that Nextchip had completed the development of its final prototype of its artificial intelligence (AI)-based ADAS chip Apache 5.

Apache 5 is a SoC that combines CPU, image signal processor and ADAS algorithm. It also has a neural processing unit inside it that can run CNN algorithm. The chip will also be manufactured using 14nm process nodes manufactured by Samsung.

Nextchip was founded in 1997, is specializing in image security system semiconductor design enterprises, the enterprise features that the products involve CCTV monitors, DVR, SoC series of products in the core semiconductors, rather than just the production of a certain part of the monitoring system semiconductors.
