CTOnews.com, October 14 (Xinhua)-- Sony Honda Mobility (Sony Honda Mobile), a joint venture between Honda and Sony cars, announced that its first model will begin delivery in 2026.

The company plans to produce the model at Honda's North American plant and will go on sale in the United States in the spring of 2026.

Officials say a "preview version" of the car will be unveiled on the eve of the CES 2023 in Las Vegas on January 4, 2023, and released the first promotional video for the new car.

The trailer does not reveal much, and even the appearance of the vehicle is only a few glances, of which the first part seems to be the hood and the second part may be the lower part of the door.

According to reports, Sony Honda Mobility will focus on three aspects: Autonomy, Augmentation and Affinity.

The model will be able to achieve limited L3 self-driving, which means it appears to be able to take hands off the steering wheel briefly and provide L2 +-level urban driving assistance.

The model will feature a cloud-connected user interface that will provide "entertainment other than driving" and an "integrated service framework" that runs from in-car software to the cloud, according to an official announcement.

According to the company's strategy, Sony Honda Mobile will start taking preorders for its first model in the first half of 2025 and start selling it by the end of the year. After the launch in the United States, delivery in Japan will begin in the second half of 2026.
