CTOnews.com news on October 14, today, Netflix announced the upcoming advertising package. The package costs $6.99 a month in the United States, which is $3 cheaper than the Netflix standard subscription plan.

The advertising package will be launched with the basic, standard and premium editions and will provide 720p streaming video. Netflix will also update the standard base plan to support 720p when the advertising package is launched.

Netflix's new plan will offer most of the same TV shows, movies and "personalized viewing experiences", but users will see four to five minutes of ads per hour. The length of the advertisement ranges from 15 seconds to 30 seconds and will be broadcast before and in the middle of the show and movie.

Some movies and TV shows will be unavailable due to licensing restrictions, but Netflix does not provide a list of content that will not be available. Unlike plans without advertising, advertising-based programs will not support downloading movies and TV shows for offline viewing.

CTOnews.com learned that the advertising package will be launched at 9:00 local time on November 3 and will be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
