CTOnews.com, October 13 (Xinhua)-- Apollo Future Mobile has released a prototype of its new G2J all-electric sports car, which will be used to develop future production models. It is reported that the appearance of the new car is still very fighting, and uses the butterfly door design. In addition, the new car replaces the traditional rearview mirror with a camera rearview mirror.

The engineering prototype, known as the Apollo G2J, has been developed for nearly two years and is now mainly used for aerodynamics and material testing-many of its panels are made of carbon fiber, which may be the preferred material for future electric vehicles.

The development team of the new car is made up of engineers from Germany and Japan. At present, the car is still in the prototype stage. They are planning to build their electric cars on an unnamed Japanese EV platform, and seem to focus more on the luxury of these vehicles than on track performance. The company is said to plan to produce the electric cars in China through joint ventures with local manufacturers.

Apollo said its first electric model, the EV sports car, will make its debut at the 2022 Guangzhou Motor Show next month, followed by its official launch in 2024.

The company said it "will inherit the DNA of the Apollo supercar. It is a driveable concept car and an interesting technology toy with a carbon fiber body and a two-door pure electric smart sports car, impacting aesthetics, cool-looking design ideas and minimalist futuristic interiors."

CTOnews.com learned that because of the pure electric sports car, the new car removed the exaggerated intake grille and vents on the traditional fuel sports car, but the body low enough and the raised wheel arch made it still look very fighting. The camera rearview mirror of the new car is lower than the traditional rearview mirror, probably in the position of the door handle.
