CTOnews.com October 13 news, hardware whistleblower @ knot city Ansui-YuuKi_AnS revealed the first details of Intel Xeon architecture Diamond Rapids.

Intel Granite Rapids is the successor to Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids, which seem to have been delayed by repeated delays in Intel HPC products. Intel is said to have confirmed that four generations from now will adopt PCI Express 6.0technology.

Intel has not confirmed when the Diamond Rapids will be launched, or even the company has not even confirmed the code name, but the product does show up in PPT as "next generation" and has a full-core (performance core, P-core) design.

He also confirmed some other details, such as the fact that Diamond Rapids will support PCIe Gen6, which will be upgraded again compared to Granite Rapids's PCIe 5.

In addition, the strong Extensible Architecture of Generation 7 will also support PCIe Gen6-based CXL 3.0 (Compute Express Link, the new open interconnection standard). CTOnews.com learned that the CXL 3.0 interface specification was actually released only in August this year, and it will take at least three years to see it in Intel Xeon products.

Unfortunately, there are no details on the number of cores or CPU caching in PPT, but Intel gives an attitude at PPT that Intel will continue to use HBM memory in their HPC processors, at least for the foreseeable future.
