CTOnews.com October 13 news, from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology official learned that in October this year, ISO 34501 automatic driving test scenario international standard officially released, this is also China's first automatic driving test scenario international standard.

In recent years, with the rapid rise of automotive autonomous driving technology in the world, the relevant standards for autonomous driving test evaluation have become the focus of various international standardization organizations. In April 2018, China submitted an international standard proposal for automatic driving test scenarios to the International Organization for Standardization Road Vehicle Committee (ISO / TC22), and approved the establishment of an automatic driving test scenario working group (ISO / TC22 / SC33 / WG9) and served as the convener of the working group. Subsequently, in combination with its own industrial development practice, China, together with experts from more than 20 countries such as Germany, Japan, Britain, the Netherlands and the United States, jointly planned a series of international standard projects around automatic driving test scenarios, including ISO 34501 scenario vocabulary, ISO 34502 safety assessment framework, ISO 34503 design operation scope, ISO 34504 scenario classification, and ISO 34505 evaluation and use case generation.

ISO 34501 is the first international standard published in this series, mainly standardizing the concepts of automatic driving system, dynamic driving task, design operation scope and conditions, clarifying the relationship between scene, static and dynamic environment and entity elements, and forming scene level description rules including functional scene, abstract scene, logical scene and specific scene. As an important basic standard for automatic driving system test scenarios, this standard meets the industry's demand for standardized language description of test scenarios when carrying out automatic driving test evaluation related work, and will be widely applied to the R & D, testing and management of global intelligent networked automobile automatic driving technology and products, providing important basic support for various automatic driving applications such as intelligent travel, regional connection and road transportation.

CTOnews.com learned that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. and other relevant units to give full play to the advantages of rich application scenarios and active technological innovation in China's automobile industry on the principle of synchronous research and formulation of international and domestic standards, and accelerate the research and development of advanced technologies for automatic driving, the construction and application of basic scenario libraries and the construction of industry test and evaluation capabilities. Continue to improve China's participation and contribution in the construction of international standards and regulations system and industrial integration and development.
