CTOnews.com, Oct. 13, in addition to announcing a number of Azure features, Teams features and Edge upgrades, Microsoft also announced new and upcoming features of Microsoft 2022 at the Ignite 2022 conference.

First of all, the Mac version of Outlook now supports key profiles and filters provided by Apple. These profiles can be configured on a per-account basis and will apply to all relevant elements, such as notifications and topics.

In addition, Microsoft also revealed other features of Outlook. These features include: work time and place to learn more about when it is appropriate to schedule a meeting with someone, meeting review so that records and related information can be found directly from calendar events, response to email messages, and an editor provided by Context IQ (now being launched in a preview to display relevant information and people in Web Outlook. All of these will be widely available by the end of this year.

Speaking of Microsoft Editor Editor, there are also some new features in the preview version, including tone suggestions, large file summaries, and the simplicity of Web Word. Similarly, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will get a personal sidebar containing their most commonly used commands.

In addition, Microsoft has announced a series of new features for Microsoft Project Web. By the end of this year, the software will have access to short-term activities and contact views to monitor task allocation and workload. Starting in 2023, connections to Viva goals, goals in the project, tasks assigned to me, task history, advanced dependencies, and task limits up to 1000 will also be available.

Microsoft is also making it easier to create and view video content in Stream. Background blur, ink, text and effects are already widely available, while Teams meeting minutes are now accessible from Teams mobile apps. Other features include personalized timeline tagging, automatically generated chapters, and intelligent search. All of this will make it easier for people to find important content, especially when listening to lengthy recordings.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft also announced Microsoft Syntex. This is a collection of artificial intelligence-driven applications and services that make it easier to analyze and organize unstructured content. It automates content-based workflows such as electronic signatures, supports annotations and edits, and integrates closely with Microsoft search. Other features include data management and protection, scenario accelerators, integration with commercial applications such as Dynamics 365, and containers. The Syntex feature has been rolled out gradually from today until early 2023.

After being announced nearly a year ago, Microsoft's new collaboration platform, Loop, is now available with a private preview. Loop is a new Microsoft 365 application that also provides portable components that can be used with other services such as Teams, Outlook, and OneNote. Microsoft has released a 'circle' that officially details Microsoft Loop's new collaboration platform: components, pages and workspaces, integrating all Microsoft 365 applications.

Plans for the expansion of the Loop component in the coming months include the following:

Insert voting, checklist, or task list components into Web Word-private preview by the end of 2022

Copy existing Loop components and paste them into Teams, Web, and desktop whiteboards-fully available by the end of 2022

Microsoft form-driven opinion polls synchronized with Web Outlook and Word-Private Preview by the end of 2022

Q & A-can now be previewed in Web Outlook and will be widely used later this year

Sensitivity tags-available in Teams chat at the end of this year

Data loss Prevention (DLP)-available in Teams chat at the end of this year

A new Microsoft 365 app is also in the pipeline. Microsoft describes it as an evolution of Office applications that basically allow users to access everything in one place, along with AI-driven intelligence. The new application, which will be launched next month, will include new features such as tracking shared file activity and trend Feed streams, accessing application modules for any Microsoft 365 or related third-party applications, and tagging your content for better organization.
