CTOnews.com, Oct. 13, Microsoft today launched Microsoft Teams Premium (Teams Premium), which aims to enhance the experience of its chat and collaboration application Teams through a number of artificial intelligence-driven intelligence features. The biggest new feature is a new meeting review function, which is to add an artificial intelligence virtual assistant to each meeting to share highlights and automatically record all important parts, just like having your own assistant to take notes for you.

Nicole Herskowitz, general manager of the Microsoft team, said in an interview with The Verge that what the smart meeting review feature does is break the meeting into smart chapters, which will reduce the 40-minute meeting that you may not fully participate in to 10 minutes, which will be highlighted when you are mentioned or shared on the screen. If you have to leave the meeting ahead of time, you can automatically fill in the meeting later where you left.

Intelligent meeting Review function Microsoft Teams Premium also provides a high-voice artificial intelligence-driven real-time translation function that supports up to 40 languages and automatically translates voice into text and other languages, which will be a useful feature for companies that telecommute and often span many different languages.

Microsoft is also improving the security of Teams meetings through Teams Premium. Similar to DRM protection for Office documents, Teams conferences will include new security measures to protect confidential information in communications.

Microsoft Teams Premium also adds a feature called Advanced meeting Protection, which allows you to watermark or decide who can record in a meeting.

In addition to Microsoft Teams Premium, the regular version of Teams will also usher in more features. Excel Live, which has been tested for several months, will be launched in November, allowing the conferencing platform to edit Excel files in real time directly in the team. Common mode (Together Mode) will also get a new feature that allows organizers and speakers to assign seats to attendees in the common mode view.

Artificial intelligence recommendation responses will also be available soon, making it easier to quickly respond to team messages or @ mentioned people, and even send messages regularly in Teams.

Microsoft Teams 3D avatar all of these Teams improvements are made at a time when Microsoft is working with Cisco, and Microsoft Teams will soon be able to be set as the default feature of Cisco conferencing hardware. The first wave of Teams-certified devices will be launched in the first half of 2023.

Speaking of partnerships, Microsoft also announced a partnership with Meta this week, and Microsoft Teams will soon appear on Quest. Microsoft is even tweaking Meta's avatar system for Teams and supporting Meta's own Horizon workshop.

CTOnews.com has learned that Microsoft has not yet announced the pricing of Teams Premium and will launch a public preview in December, and Teams Premium is expected to be officially launched in February 2023.
