According to the agency's latest registration data, 298383 Tesla electric vehicles were newly registered in the US market in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 54 per cent over the same period last year.

Considering that September is the last month of the third quarter, Tesla accelerated production and delivery, with higher production and delivery volume. With 298000 vehicles registered in the previous eight months, the registration volume is bound to exceed 300000 in September.

According to the agency, Tesla accounted for four of the 10 electric vehicles with the highest new registrations in the US in the first eight months of this year, and all entered the top five most popular electric vehicles, the Model Y and the Model 3, both with more than 100000 registrations, far higher than other models.

Specifically, the Model Y registered 134978 new vehicles in the United States in the first eight months, making it the highest registered model, followed by the Model 3 with 123634 new registrations in the first eight months, 20032 new registrations in the United States in the first eight months of the Model S, the fourth highest number of electric vehicles registered, and the Model X 19739 newly registered, ranking fifth.

The only non-Tesla among the top 5 registrations in the United States in the first eight months is the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which ranks third with 25956 pure electric SUV registrations, but is a far cry from Tesla Model Y and Model 3, which are the top two on the list.
