CTOnews.com, October 13, more than a year ago, Microsoft announced Windows 365, a service that allows enterprises to securely spread the full Windows experience, with the operating system hosted on the Microsoft cloud. This essentially means that employees don't need special hardware and can just sign up for the project to take advantage of a personalized Windows experience. Today, at the Ignite 2022 conference, Microsoft announced a bunch of new features for Windows 365and Windows.

Starting with Windows 365, Microsoft announced the launch of a new Windows 365 government SKU for federal contractors and employees. It allows Windows to be streamed from Microsoft while meeting security standards set by the US government. In addition, the Windows 365 app is about to enter the Microsoft Store, so you can download it and launch it directly from the start menu on the taskbar. CTOnews.com learned that another update in the preview is the Citrix HDX Plus plug-in for Windows 365. It enables enterprises to support more terminals, peripherals, and security policies, especially in an environment where network bandwidth is limited.

To talk more about Windows on the cloud, services from Update Compliance are being transferred to Azure Workbooks and appear under the new Windows Update for Business solution. This change will take place next month and will make the overall experience more modular and consistent.

At the same time, the basic version of Microsoft 365 is getting two preview features, namely, in-place upgrade support and Microsoft 365 application testing. The former will arrive next month, while the latter will be previewed later this month. Similarly, targeted, contextual, in-product organizational information, which was announced a few months ago and controlled by IT administrators, will be previewed next month.

Finally, Microsoft Universal Printing will also get two new features. The first is delegated management support for localized management, which will be launched in the first week of November. Second, more information is provided on the printer job page to debug the problem and get pointers to the relevant documentation for diagnosis. This feature will be widely available by the end of this month.
