CTOnews.com October 12 news, Lexus today announced the world's first new UX 300e, which is the brand's first pure electric vehicle revamped. The new UX 300e is the same as the UX 200Universe 250h released earlier this year and is scheduled to begin delivery in the spring of 2023.

According to reports, since the launch of the world's first hybrid SUV RX 400h in 2005, Lexus has been committed to electrification of the luxury car market. Based on the vision of "Lexus electrification" announced in 2019, it meets the diverse needs of global customers through the transformation of a wide range of new energy vehicles from hybrid to plug-in and pure electric vehicles.

By the end of August 2022, cumulative sales of Lexus electric vehicles were about 2.3 million. Officials say the brand is accelerating the development and shift to electric vehicles, contributing to carbon neutrality.

CTOnews.com learned that Lexus launched the UX 300e in 2020, the brand's first mass-produced all-electric model, followed by the Lexus RZ, an all-electric model with a dedicated platform in 2022.

The new UX 300e consists mainly of a newly developed battery pack, with an increase in capacity from 54.4kWh to 72.8kWh and a range of 450km (WLTC), more than 40 per cent higher than existing models.

Lexus also said that the new car has an energy consumption rating of 166.8 Wh / km and that the battery uses the CHAdeMO fast charging standard, but the charging time has not yet been announced.

In terms of power as before, the front motor is rated at 150 kilowatts (201 horsepower) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) torque. In addition to larger batteries, Lexus has made further dynamic improvements to the UX 300e and upgraded active security features and infotainment.

The new UX 300e has been rigorously tested and evaluated at the foot of Toyota's technology center. In order to achieve finer dynamics, the body stiffness is enhanced by adding 20 spot solders, and the electric power steering (EPS) and shock absorbers are optimized.

In other ways, the functions of Lexus Safety system + active safety technology have been expanded and enhanced to provide a safer and more reliable driving experience.

Dynamic radar cruise control (with full speed tracking function) also supports the turning speed control function, which can decelerate the vehicle in advance according to the size of the bend, and add emergency steering assistance, as well as enhanced lane tracking assistance, and the New year can also use AI technology for lane identification.

Lexus also brought the latest multimedia system, including a larger (12.3in), higher resolution touchscreen, optimized layout of the dashboard and center console area, two new USB Type-C ports in the front of the console, a digital key App, a central screen panoramic display, a transparent ground image display, and vertically expanded wireless charging space.
