Together, these three brands account for 62% of total sales. Samsung took the lead with a 26% market share in the first week of this year's holiday promotion season. We estimate that Samsung sold 3.3 million smartphones this year, successfully surpassing Chinese manufacturers because of its attractive price discounts in all price ranges and an enhanced sense of channel presence. This time, the maximum discount on Samsung phones based on the actual retail price is about 60%. High-end models such as S22 Ultra, S21 FE, S22 Plus and Z Flip 3 all have considerable discounts and sell well during the holiday season. Commenting on the performance of Chinese brands, Strategy Analytics senior analyst added: "We estimate that Xiaomi and realme sold 2.5m and 2.2 million respectively this year, ranking second and third with 20 per cent and 17 per cent market share respectively. Chinese brands face huge resistance in India and limited channel promotion budgets have led to weak performance this year. Xiaomi gave way to Samsung."

StrategyAnalytics senior analyst added: "Apple's sales are not in the top three, but they are good." Apple devices offer discounts of up to 33% at major electronics retailers. Second-generation devices like the iPhone 13 offer considerable discounts and are very popular. There are two reasons why we think the iPhone 13 is the best-selling model. First of all, it is the latest of all the models available for sale, and the discount is attractive. Second, except for satellite connections and crash detection, the look and feel of iPhone 14 is very similar to that of iPhone 13, as does the processor. Therefore, people are more likely to choose the cheaper iPhone 13. We believe that after the iPhone 13 discount, its demand will further increase in the next holiday promotion. "
