According to Sony, 360SSM technology first measures the relative height and position of the echo wall and rear surround slightly through the built-in microphone, and automatically optimizes the sound according to the room layout; Then based on the position information, synthesize sound waves to create multiple realistic phantom speakers, emit spherical sound waves, construct a sound field with a wider range than the physical speaker, and create an omni-directional surround and immersive listening effect. When users use the product, they no longer have to be troubled by the precise placement of traditional home shadows and cumbersome wiring. By easily and flexibly placing them, they can create an ideal domed sound field for their own home environment.

Sony 360 SSM Audio Black Tech 5.1.2 entity channel HT-A5000, nine speakers work together to provide clear, broad sound while reducing distortion. Echo Wall features built-in dual subwoofers for deep bass; two upward-sounding speakers for sky channels via reflections from the ceiling; and two beam tweeters for horizontal surround sound via reflections from the left and right walls. The HT-A3000 features 3.1 channels, three front speakers (including a dedicated center speaker for clear conversations) and two built-in double subwoofers for deep bass.

Both models feature upward-sounding speakers, built-in dual subwoofers and front speakers, all of which feature Sony's unique X-Balanced speaker unit. The unique rectangular shape maximizes the area of the speaker diaphragm and increases sound pressure for stronger bass and clearer sound. In addition, both products feature DSEE Extreme™ technology, which uses Edge-AI to up-compress digital files in real time, recovering high-range sound lost during compression and restoring lossy files to the level of lossless files.

Users can choose wireless rear speakers to enjoy the domed sound field built by 360SSM. There are two models to choose from: the true wireless rear surround slightly SA-RS5 with a total power of about 90W and built-in battery, or the wireless rear surround speaker SA-RS3S with a total power of about 60W.
