According to reports, the UAV carrying out this operation is equipped with a high-performance domestic cloud precipitation detection system, which can provide direct observation data of cloud and precipitation, provide support for the study of the characteristics and structure of cloud precipitation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the catalytic effect of cloud seeding, and promote the research and development of cloud precipitation mechanism and catalytic technology on the plateau. As of 21:00 on the same day, the cumulative operating hours was 4 hours and 57 minutes, with a preliminary estimate that the affected area of the operation was 15000 square kilometers.

CTOnews.com learned that this experiment, as part of the 2022 Qinghai-Tibet Plateau UAV artificial snow and ice replenishment experiment, relying on the second Qinghai-Tibet Plateau scientific research, carried out catalytic experiments aimed at increasing snow and ice in typical glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, aimed at improving the ability of artificial rain (snow) enhancement on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and is of great significance to ensuring production and life in agricultural and pastoral areas on the plateau and coping with climate change.

In addition, this test will help to further develop safe and efficient artificial weather influence operation technology, explore high-performance rain enhancement aircraft and other new operation equipment, and provide strong support for the development of normal ecological environment protection and restoration artificial weather influence operation in the plateau area.
