CTOnews.com, October 11, according to the news of China Aeroengine Group, 18:00 on October 9, 2022, the first domestic 110MW AGT-110 heavy gas turbine independently developed by AVG took an important step towards commercial operation through 72-hour continuous operation at full load at CNOOC Deep Power site.

CTOnews.com learned that the AGT-110 heavy-duty gas turbine is a single-shaft, double-bearing, front-output industrial gas turbine with fully independent intellectual property rights, generating capacity of 110MW for industrial power generation.

In 2018, China Aviation Generation Gas Turbine launched the development of AGT-110 heavy-duty gas turbine project. In December 2020, the first AGT-110 heavy-duty gas turbine was put off the assembly line in Shenyang. In November 2021, the no-load test was completed and went to the CNOOC Shenzhen Electric Power site in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. In May 2022, AGT-110 heavy-duty gas turbines were connected to the grid for the first time.

AVIC said that 72-hour trial operation is a pass for civil gas turbines to move towards commercial operation, and the smooth completion of this continuous trial operation at full load indicates that the AGT-110 unit has broken through an important assessment before commercial operation, and that the development work has achieved phased results and can be formally put into market sale. In the follow-up, AVG gas turbine will, with the support of the State Energy Administration, work closely with the user unit CNOOC Shenzhen Electric Power to promote the trial operation of the AGT-110 gas turbine chief and further verify the reliability of the whole machine.
