According to foreign media reports, the new stadium of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in the Premier League has been open for three and a half years, but there is still no sponsor name. A few days ago, a source said that Google is negotiating with it on the naming rights of its venues.

It is reported that the new Tottenham Stadium, located in north London, costs 1 billion pounds and has a capacity of 62062 people. Tottenham have not named the venue since it was built in 2019, and even on its official website, it is only referred to as "The Stadium". Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been looking for a lucrative naming rights sponsorship contract.

According to reports, Tottenham initially offered a 10-year contract with a total value of 200m pounds, followed by a 15-year contract worth about 375 million pounds (about 2.966 billion yuan).

Although it is not clear whether Google can meet the requirement of a total contract price of more than 375 million pounds, nor is it clear how far the negotiations are going. Daniel Levy said in an interview that there were "a lot of twists and turns" in the naming of the stadium, but it was all worth it.

If the deal goes through, it will be another sports investment by Google in recent years. Google had previously reached a technology and marketing agreement with NBA last year; in March, it reached multi-year cooperation agreements with McLaren F1 and Extreme E; and Google Google Cloud recently renewed its contract with MLB.
