CTOnews.com learned that MediaTek released Tianji 1080 today, using eight-core CPU:2 ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency as high as 2.6GHz. 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency as high as 2GHz. GPU is still Mali-G68, providing a smoother experience in games, streaming, web browsing and other applications. LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 enclosures are also supported. Tianji 1080 is still manufactured by TSMC 6nm process, which has good energy efficiency performance and can extend the battery life of smartphones.

The new Tianji 1080 can process image data from sensors through Imagiq ISP, up to 200MP pixels (formerly 108MP) and supports four cameras. Tianji 1080 also integrates a hardware-level 4K HDR video recording engine to provide better dim light shooting.
